  A style is the usually slender supportive stalk of a pistil, situated between the ovary and the stigma  
     
The style becomes the pathway for pollen tubes (that grow from pollen grains) adhering to the stigma, to the ovules, carrying the reproductive material. A single style may bear more than one stigma, In Cactaceae the style old up multiple stigmas typically 3-20.
