Akersia

''OTTO SCHULTZ'' is an hybrid between Akersia roseiflora and an Echinopsis. The flowers are a lovely lilac pink. The brilliant flowers don't close at night, and they last about 2-4 days. They come in flushes in late spring to summer.

Akersia roseiflora (a.k.a. Cleistocactus samaipatanus) is a narrow columnar cactus with gold spines. It grows vigorously with large, pink-red flowers and purple stamen in a bundle. The plant found in cultivation are quite variable.
