Description: E. wippermanni is a
solitary plant.
Stem: Spherically to elonged, up to 15 cm highly,
dark-green
Ribs: (25 -) 35 (-40), weakly wavy.
Radial spines: up to 18-22, sharp, white, up to (the lowest) 1.5
cm long;
Central spines: 3 awl-like, 2-6 cm long, the upper one
more or less flat
pressed and weakly curved, the lowers approximately straight,
milky-white with almost blackish-brown base.
Flowers: 1.5 cm long, white (or yellow) with purple or brownish
midstrip.
Cultivation: Easy to
to care and flower. It needs regular cacti soil with good drainage.
Propagation: Seeds (usually) Exposure: It likes
strong sunshine but is tolerant and do well with light
shade during the hot Summer months, allow to dry between watering.
It should not be watered at all in winter.
Frost Tolerance: does not tolerate intense or
prolonged cold (hardy to -5°C if kept dry)
