Pereskia

Pereskia bahiensis is a tree-like cactus from Bahia, Brazil. Unlike most cacti, it has persistent leaves. In its native land, it is used to form hedges. The pink to reddish-purple flowers are either solitary or borne in small terminal inflorescences.

Although Pereskia grandifolia is a cactus by classification, it takes the form of a shrub with elliptic leaves.The dense inflorescence develops at the ends of stems, usually with 10-15 flowers. The flowers are showy and rose-like, 3–5 cm in diameter.
