Known as "Elephant's foot plant", this slow-growing caudiciform has a green-grey, bottle-like, spiny trunk. The silver-green caudex stores water for dry periods. It sheds leaves in dormancy, regrowing them when active. Produces a striking yellow flower. Grows shrub-like, with a unique, sculptural appearance prized in succulent collections.
