The Serra Escura (State of Bahia, Brasil) is home to the endemic and rare Arrojadoa marilanae. It's a very nice short columnar with dense yellow spination, clear pink flowers, cephalium formed like rings around the stem. The sad thing is that the only known habitat of Arrojadoa marylanae may disappear soon, and this species may thus become extinct in the wild.
